Подробная информация: | Ausply workers target directors in pay dispute
A new poll from KantarWorld on Wednesday shows that Australia's largest private non-profit is the most likely group for Australians to give their elected government a try.
But at the same time, the survey reveals that many Australians still view the Greens as a "distractions" and "voters' first choice" among the three main political parties.
The poll, undertaken at least 18 months after the July 2 elections, found that just 3 per cent of voters thought their own party represented "a real challenge" to a government led by Abbott.
And a similar pattern emerged across the other major political parties when asked whether they thought the Liberals represented a real threat.
These percentages were slightly higher (23 per cent for the Greens) than those of both the Coalition and the opposition.
KantarWorld surveyed 1, 003 voters between August 23 and 28, including 1, 000 who voted for both main parties (the remaining 564 are not included).
At first glance, it's not surprising that the Greens have performed relatively poorly in the polls.
The Greens didn't win a single seat from the May 9 election, despite sitting as opposition to the government of the day.
Their numbers dropped off significantly after Labor released an election manifesto to the media and, since then, Labor has lost four of its last six federal by-elections.
One potential factor is that most Australians tend to support independents, and if the Green vote falls off a cliff, they may become the target of attacks from both Labor and the Liberals, a potential loss for the Greens.
The poll also found that Australian voters were highly sceptical of Abbott, with just 24 per cent saying they would vote for the prime minister over any other political figure.
"In the poll we put out for the first time, the perception of Tony Abbott is the worst across the board, " said Kantar World's senior Australian political analyst Richard Carling.
"This means that although there was support for his particular record and policies, most people were still very sceptical of that record and policies — this would probably be the last poll in a long time to see a negative perception towards Tony Abbott. "
The poll reveals that the public is also largely undecided about voting Labor, with 28 per cent believing Labor is the only party capable of bringing about change, compared to just 11 per cent for Liberal leader Julia Gillard.
The Liberals and the Greens face one-off by-elections in the Sydney and Brisbane seats that were held last month.
The ABC also asked Australians in August last year if they trusted their own government to do the job they say they want it to do.
That number jumped from 34 pe

Darwin airport retail expansion set to go ahead dan murphys
The latest round of work on Darwin airport expansion had been under way since 2016 and had been expected to see the airport receive new runway, a helipad and more accommodation over the next five years.
That round saw the development of a new terminal as well as the construction of a large hotel complex with more than 100 beds and a new community centre, to provide accommodation for up to 70 families, before the bulk of the work was completed for the final phase.
Construction of the terminal began in June 2012 after more than four years of work including new construction, design and environmental approvals.
An $8. 5 million upgrade of the former terminal in February 2015 was followed by a $20 million extension of the existing terminal in November 2015. That upgrade of the new facility was completed earlier this year.
On the second phase of development, the airport will receive a major air navigation tower, with a maximum capacity of 400t.
The new addition will allow for a major development in the regional area of Darwin, providing new work and development opportunities as well as offering more affordable options for residents and businesses around the airport.
The new terminal will also have a larger ground level lounge with a number of different seating options.
All new buildings, including new retail and restaurants, will be built within the CBD and a smaller number of buildings outside the CBD to help expand airport facilities as well as to help increase the airport's footprint.
A new pedestrianised pedestrian walkway, to be constructed in the middle of the new terminal, will also be used by the airport as well as for the surrounding community of Darwin to share amenities and opportunities, improving accessibility.
The development will involve the complete rework of the existing terminal as well as construction of new passenger services and the operation and maintenance of a new terminal.
The airport is currently operating with the assistance of more than 1, 000 staff and approximately 100 passengers, of whom more than half are from Australia or New Zealand.
As part of the development, the Airport has been allocated more than $40 million in state assistance over the next two years. |
